Some Of The Most Common Juicing Machines Myths

By: Jenny

There are many Juicing Machines Myths floating around about juicing machines that actually confuse people and lead them to make the wrong decision. The most popular of these myths are backed by companies that market masticating juicers.

Since masticating juicers are a lot more expensive and centrifugal juicers have a larger market share, these companies float around a lot of myths to make people pay the extra money for masticating juicers over centrifugal juicers.Juicing Machines Myths

With that said, here are Some Of The Most Common Juicing Machines Myths

1. Centrifugal juicers kill off all healthy enzymes

This is one of the most common Juicing Machines Myths created to promote masticating type juicers. A part of this statement is true. It’s not true in entirety. Due to the ultra fast movement of the disc, the juice tends to get oxidised and certain enzymes are killed at higher temperatures.

Not all of them are harmed. If all the enzymes were killed, the nutrition value of the juice would be zero and the centrifugal juicers wouldn’t have been manufactured in the first place.

When you compare the centrifugal juicers to masticating juicers, the nutritional value of the juice from masticating juicers is greater because of the grinding and chewing action at a relatively low speed.

Masticating juicers win hands on when it comes to taste and this is a fact. The reason again is because of the grinding and chewing action at low speed. The shredding action of the centrifugal juicers doesn’t produce the best juice.

Juice produced using masticating juicers can be stored longer in comparison to centrifugal juicers because no oxidization takes place. Oxidization takes place when the steel blades come in contact with a juice at high speeds (in centrifugal juicers). This limits the timeframe for which the juice can be stored. As a result, juice produced from the centrifugal juicers need to be consumed immediately.

2. Bio-magnetic gears present inside twin gear masticating juicers improve juice quality and shelf life

Twin gear masticating juicers are quite expensive and they have magnets placed in them in order to prevent the gears from clashing and sticking to each other. This is the reason the magnets are used.

Some companies have gone on and made the claim that these magnetic gears improve the juice quality and shelf life.

The juice quality is significantly determined by the type of food produce and the way the juicer operates. Not the magnets. The magnets have no control over the quality of the juice or overall life of the product.

But the statement can be considered partially true because the magnets prevent the gears from clashing and sticking to each other. As a result, the gears serve you longer. That’s it.

3. Dual speed motor ensures leafy greens are juiced effectively

This is a claim made by the companies that market centrifugal dual speed juicers. There are some juicers that come with dual speed motors. The dual speed motors usually function at higher speeds over 1500 RPMs hence making it impossible to juice leafy greens.

A very low speed juicer (80 RPMs) is required to juice leafy greens effectively. You can’t accomplish with juicers with dual speed motors that can run on 1500 RPMs and 3000 RPMs. Share with us if there are any other Juicing Machines Myths you have heard of.
