Top 5 Types Of Juicers

By: Jenny

Fresh vegetable juices on wooden table, on green backgroundIn our Top 5 Types of Juicers review we are going to cover the most top of the line juicers available in the market to better help you make a purchase decision. We will quickly touch on the following juicers, from the Masticating Juicer, Upright Masticating Juicer, Twin-Gear (Triturating) Juicer, Centrifugal Juicer and the Wheatgrass Juicer.

Top 5 Types Of Juicers

Masticating Juicer

Masticating juicer is the first example of the top 5 types of juicers. The name originates from the process used to make the juice. The process involves smashing, grinding and chewing through the vegetables and fruits. This ensures that the dry pulp is separated from the last drop of juice. This juicer is effective and efficient because of its capability to chew through fruits, greens and soft vegetables without any discernment.

Upright Masticating Juicer

This juicer has been noted to be slow in speed compared to other types of juicers. However, this is a great advantage because very little oxygen gets into the juice, increasing the amount of nutrients, and enabling it to stay fresh for longer time. The amount of juice that is produced is also of high yield because less foam is produced. It has also been noted to be good when dealing with leafy vegetables, which are soft and green. The juicer is well made, which will enable it to last for many years. These masticating machines are usually multi-purpose, therefore they can be used to make nut, ice cream, baby food and even pasta. Finally, masticating juicer is considered to be easier and faster to clean compared to other types of juicers.

Twin-Gear (Triturating) Juicer

The juicer works by grinding and crushing vegetables and fresh fruits finely to extract nutrients, enzymes and the juice itself. This type of juicer is best used with soft and leafy vegetables. However, it might be difficult to use the machines if an individual is considered to have a weak hand when feeding hard produce like carrot. The twin-gear juicer has been designed with different types of attachment for grinding fruits and vegetables. However, these attachments are of not a great concern because most people purchase the juicer to benefit from its juice which is high quality, but not to make pasta.

Top 5 Types Of JuicersCentrifugal Juicer

This is the most common type of juicer that can easily be seen in stores and on TV. Centrifugal juicer has been known for its high speed when spinning. During this motion, vegetables are cut down into very small pieces. The motion also pushes the juice away from the pulp, which pours into a bowl. One disadvantage of this juicer is that it produces a lot of noise. However, it has been regarded to be the best juicer when making pineapple juice. The speed can also be controlled thereby enabling the production of juice, which is of high quality.

Wheatgrass Juicer

This is the final type of juicer that makes it on our list of the top 5 types of juicers. This juicer comes in two types, the electric and the manual. However, the electric juicer is the most common because it produces the best juice from cereal grasses. The manual wheatgrass juicer is of good value and easy to use. It is common because it is easy to use, portable and does not require electricity. Little nutrients is lost because low heat is produced compared to the electric juicer.
